Engine
The FPT N67 is a powerhouse designed to offer best-in-class power, reliability and durability. This Stage V 6.7-litre, 24-valve, six-cylinder engine with intercooler and electronic common rail injection system delivers up to 313 hp. The eVGT variable-geometry turbocharger ensures quick engine response, even under heavy load conditions. The X8 VT-Drive can pull loads up to 40 tons. The maximum torque of 1282 Nm is available from 1400 rpm and remains constant until 1800 rpm, with up to 40% torque backup. The engine allows a top speed of 50 km/h at only 1580 rpm. The engine, located within a rugged chassis, improves traction. Thank to these features, the FPT N67 delivers up to 12% better fuel economy compared to competitive engines.

Transmission
Powerful and versatile, the X8 VT-Drive tractor is a champion of efficiency. This is also due to the VT-Drive, a continuously variable transmission designed to exceed current technological standards. The VT-Drive transmission provides superior responsiveness and strong acceleration for best-in-class performance. The VT-Drive transmission not only improves operating comfort and reduces fuel consumption, but also increases productivity thanks to its four speed ranges. The VT-Drive transmission is easy to use: just select the direction with the power shuttle and step on the throttle. With the X8 VT-Drive, work becomes more efficient and stress-free.
Traction
The X8 VT-Drive is built to tackle uneven terrain, steep inclines and challenging conditions. Thanks to its chassis-mounted engine, which moves the tractor’s centre of gravity forward, and its strong suspended front axle, the X8 VT-Drive puts all of its 313 hp to the ground, more than any other tractor in its class. The tractor’s even weight distribution minimises soil compaction while improving traction. The X8 VT-Drive ensures excellent grip and stability under all operating and transport conditions.
Hydraulics
The X8 VT-Drive features a closed-centre hydraulic system with variable displacement pump. The system regulates the oil flow to the remotes according to the tractor’s needs, avoiding unnecessary power waste. Built from high-quality components, the hydraulic system of the X8 VT-Drive delivers 212 l/min to the hitch and remotes and 115 l/min to the steering system and to the rear and front hydraulic systems, allowing for simultaneous operation of all hydraulic functions. The system offers up to 11 electrohydraulic remote valves with push-pull couplers: 6 at the rear with a three-way flow divider, 3 at the front and 2 mid-mounted. The system is fully configurable from the DSM touch screen display to meet the specific needs of each operator.
Maintenance
Daily maintenance must be simple, otherwise it will be postponed. The maintenance of the X8 VT-Drive is simple and quick:
The tilt-up bonnet opens wide providing easy access to the engine compartment for quick, tool-free maintenance.
The oil filler cap with dipstick is located in the lower part of the engine, so the oil can be topped up without opening the bonnet.
The engine air filter is conveniently placed for easy cleaning and replacement.
The coolers located in front of the radiator open fully from a single latch to allow simple, fast and accurate cleaning.
The HI-eSCR2 aftertreatment system is maintenance-free. This reduces operating costs and unplanned downtime.
The fuel and AdBlue tanks are conveniently located and have different coloured caps for quick and safe refuelling.
The cab air filter is easily accessible for quick maintenance.
The oil level in the transmission can be conveniently checked through the transparent oil filler cap with level gauge located on the rear of the tractor.
The windscreen wiper fluid reservoir is located on the rear of the cab.The Automatic Grease System automatically lubricates all grease points, allowing for significant time savings.
Maintenance intervals have been doubled from 500 to 1000 hours.
