Overview

Maximum Productivity

The Dominator 4861 was developed with 24" shank spacing to promote subsoil maintenance, while providing increased working widths and operator productivity. RTK working widths range from 14' to 26'.

The KUHN Krause Dominator combination primary tillage machine sets new standards for residue management, compaction removal and mixing of residue in one pass. The Dominator 4861 offers a subsoil primary tillage solution that provides optimal tilled width productivity. A 24" subsoil shank spacing provides RTK cut widths of 14' (7 shank), 18' (9 shank), 22' (11 shank) and 26' (13 shank) allowing you to cover more acres per day.

Features

Coulters

Adjustable, hydraulic constant-flow 25" diameter coulters, with 8" spacing, are indexed to each sub-soil shank maintaining a uniform cutting pressure across varying soil and heavy residue. A new heavy-duty scraper bar weldment prevents residue and wet soil from building between coulter blades. Coulters are indexed so a single blade is operating on each side of the subsoil shank. Increase the coulter hydraulic down pressure for a blacker, rougher field finish or decrease coulter down pressure for a smaller clod size with an extremely level field finish. Coulter gangs are mounted with Rock-Flex bearing arms for added protection. Coulters feature PEER TILLXTREME™ maintenance-free bearings.

Shank Spacing

Subsoil shanks on 24" spacing provide optimum cut widths for available horsepower per foot of cut. This double-rank design allows for a minimum of 48" between adjoining shanks for maximum "no-plug" residue and soil flow.

Shanks

Compaction reduction and subsoil maintenance are accomplished through 3,000-pound point load, auto-reset subsoil shanks. Shanks are equipped with Double K™ ripper points and offer a maximum operating depth of 16 inches.

Double K Points

Double K ripper points double the wear life of prior KUHN Krause Dominator fabricated steel and carbide-capped ripper points. Solid casting increases durability in rocky conditions. Choose between the 26.5-pound, 7" wing ripper point and the 22-pound, 2.5" straight ripper point.

Rear Disc Conditioner

Left and right sections of the rear disc conditioner are configured in a reverse tandem design that first moves soil inward, then outward in opposite directions, to aggressively mix and bury residue, size large clods and level the soil. The disc conditioner is hydraulically controlled with a lower limit adjustment valve. Uniform 12" spacing is maintained with individually mounted, 24" fluted, shallow concavity blades. Disc conditioner blade configuration offers a level field finish while functioning within a wide range of operating speeds. A specially designed C-arm now allows for the disc hub to be directly mounted. This new combination of C-arm and hub provides 10% more soil and residue flow through the disc conditioner to improve continuous operation in adverse conditions. Dual hydraulic cylinders control the position of the rear disc conditioner for optimal operating height in relation to the tilled soil surface.

Heavy-Duty 24/7 Conditioning Reel

Choice of heavy-duty solid round bar or heavy-duty flat bar reel with PEER TILLXTREME™ maintenance-free bearing assemblies mounted on heavy-duty ductile cast bearing arms provides aggressive clod sizing and soil firming. Hydraulic control for reel lift is standard.

Maintenance-Free Bearing Assembly

Independently mounted blades on a 6-bolt hub containing double angular contact bearing equipped with 11-lip seals offer outstanding reliability and maintenance free operation.

Equipment

Smart Soil Technology

Available as an option on all Dominator 4857 / 4861 models, this ISOBUS control system (SST) delivers in-cab electronic control and convenience for operation and adjustment of machine depth, coulter pressure, disc conditioner depth, and conditioning reel from any compatible ISOBUS display. ISOBUS equipment certified by the AEF is included in the online database. The customer can verify compatibility of ISOBUS functions between the machine and the terminal to be used.

Guardian Hitch

This exclusive option guards against stress on the tractor drawboard and implement frame. Lateral drawbar forces are transferred through the hotch pivot where shock load from steering input is dampened by urethane blocks. Choose from the articulating ball Cat III, IV, or V double-bolt, cast hitch, depending on model.

Tractor Interface Center

The tractor interface center prevents hydraulic hoses from binding in turns and adds operator convenience. Includes hose routing chart, colour-coded hose grips, storage for light hookup and owner's manual.

Single-Point Depth Control - Standard

Shank depth is controlled conveniently with the crank-adjustable depth stop located at the front of the machine. View working depth on the easy-to-read scale.

Heavy-Duty Walking Beams - Standard

Standard on the center section of all Dominator models, heavy-duty 8-bolt hubs with slip-in wheel spindles secured by a single bolt ensure durability and easy maintenance.
