JCB 560-80 Agri Telehandler

JCB's Most Versatile Machine for the Farm

Welcome to Machine of the Month, where monthly, we highlight one machine that’s stood out among the rest. We look at machines that revolutionized agricultural production and paved the way for innovation.

This month, our machine is JCB’s 560-80 Agri Telescopic Handler – a highly efficient, highly versatile telescopic handler with the more power and productivity than ever before.

JCB's 560-80 digging into grain supply

JCB is renowned for integrating telescopic arms into their heavy machinery, allowing for smaller machines to handle impressive payloads. These arms allow operators to reach, extend, and lift materials to extreme heights, and dig below ground-level. The first ever JCB Telehandler was pioneered in 1977 as a versatile hybrid between a rough-terrain forklift and crane. The JCB 520 Loadall revolutionized material handling and became a leader for the modern range of JCB Loadalls. Nearly 50 years later, the JCB 560-80 maximizes uptime and productivity. Equipped with three steer modes (2WS, 4WS, and crab steer) and a spacious, high-visibility cab, this telehandler handlers all work in terrain.

History of the 560-80 Telehandler:

In 2014, the 560-80’s base model debuted, introducing a maximum lift capacity of over 6 metric tons, joining a lineup of heavyweight telehandlers that provided customers with 55 feet and 10 inches of lift height. Today, the 560-80 offers good ground clearance and four-wheel drive for excellent performance in any condition and a hydrostatic transmission for easy operation, infinite speed variations, and great fuel efficiency. All JCB telescopic handlers come with a one-piece fully welded chassis for maximum strength and minimum weight.

We’ve chosen it for our machine of the month for its strength and maneuverability, perfectly suited for large farms. It's superior combination of speed, precision, and power makes it a staple on large farms for stockpiling, loading, and clearing. The 560-80 can handle the heaviest agricultural jobs with its 13,227 lbs lift capacity. Its Z-bar linkage and heavy-duty hydraulic cylinders deliver 6.7 tonnes of breakout force, allowing it to effortlessly tear through packed grain and silage.

The award-winning JCB EcoMax engine is a highly efficient diesel engine with an advanced combustion system and maximized engine-out emissions. This reduces costly DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) replacements and greatly increases uptime. This, combined with it's compact packing and fuel efficiency proves its an innovative, engine solution that delivers every time.

The 560-80 prioritizes on-farm safety and driver comfort. The low profile boom, pivot point, and cab-mounted from & rear work lights offers excellent all-round visibility. A reversing alarm and hose burst check valves (HBCVs) guard against collapse in the event of a hose failure. The comfortable cab has been designed for ergonomic and precise control, fitted with handles and footsteps that provide safe access.
